The Chester Cultural Arts and Technology (CAAT) Center is excited to announce a series of events celebrating Father's Day and Juneteenth throughout Chester from June 14 to June 16, 2024. This historic weekend will be filled with activities designed to honor fathers, celebrate freedom, and unite the community.
The weekend's highlight is the Father's Day Juneteenth Celebration Parade, sponsored by Reworld, scheduled for Sunday, June 16, 2024, beginning at 2 PM. The parade will start at 7th and Penn Streets and culminate at City Hall, where a stage will be set up for concluding remarks and festivities.
Event Highlights
Friday, June 14, 2024:
Chester CAAT Center’s Art Unframed exhibit Men of Honor featuring a Poema Experience & Honor thy Father award presentation 5-8 pm at Downtown CAAT. Free entry and refreshments will be served.
Saturday, June 15, 2024:
Look Forward presents Men’s Suit Clothing and Health Fair 1-4PM 403 avenue of the states, Chester, PA
Juneteenth Festival: 12PM-6PM at Memorial Park- St. Daniels Ray of Hope CDC in partnership with the City of Chester. Featuring the Legendary Blue Notes and many more artist.
CMP Radio Foundation “PAL Event” Poetry, Artist and Comedians (Laughter) Doors open at 7pm at Downtown CAAT
Sunday, June 16, 2024:
Chester CAAT Center’s Father's Day Juneteenth Celebration Parade: 2PM starting at 7th and Penn Streets and ending at City Hall.
Post-Parade Festival: 3 PM - 4 PM at City Hall. Speeches and remarks by local officials and community leaders, followed by music, food, and games.
Several esteemed local officials and community leaders will be present to participate in the parade and deliver remarks at the post-parade festival. Invited speakers include:

U.S. Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon
PA Senator John Kane
Representative Carol Kazeem
Other distinguished community leaders
This celebration marks a momentous occasion, combining the recognition of Father’s Day with the historic significance of Juneteenth – the day commemorating the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United States.
We are thrilled to bring together the community for a weekend of celebration, unity, and reflection. This is a wonderful opportunity to honor our fathers, celebrate our freedom, and highlight the rich cultural heritage of Chester.
