Kwanzaa Celebration at the CAAT Center - December 29, 2025

On Monday, December 29, 2025, from 6:00-9:00 PM, the Chester Cultural Arts and Technology Center (CAAT Center) proudly collaborated with DELCO PA ABSW (Association of Black Social Workers) to host a meaningful Kwanzaa Celebration rooted in culture, unity, and community, reflecting the spirit of Harambee, pulling together.

The evening opened with libations led by Dr. Onaje Muid, grounding the gathering in honor and remembrance of ancestors and setting a reflective, intentional tone for the celebration. Yvette Rouse shared the purpose and history of Kwanzaa. Youth played a central role as students read the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, reinforcing the importance of intergenerational learning, leadership, and cultural pride.

The program also featured a powerful dance performance by Furaha, bringing movement and expression to the principles being honored. Tara Jones then led the community in a group of exercise, encouraging connection, collective energy, and shared participation among attendees.

The event was welcoming and inclusive, and successfully brought together families, community members, partners, and supporters for an evening of celebration and reflection. The partnership between DELCO PA ABSW and the CAAT Center was strong and collaborative, and we are grateful for the support of additional funders, including COPE, whose contributions helped make the event possible.

Overall, the evening was a beautiful celebration of Kwanzaa’s traditions and principles,

highlighting the power of partnership, youth engagement, and community-centered

programming.
